Did you get Limewire from: www.limewire.com Also, what is your OS? and, run an anti virus scanner just incase you
pickuped something while downloading from Gnutella.

I downloaded it from Download.com and am running XP Pro. Have Norton 2005 and have run virus checker. It seems to be ok when running alone.

I dont know about how trusting that site would be but if the Limewire you have keeps acting up, Id uninstall it and download it from the official site isntead. It shouldnt actup at all. its usually, extremely stable.

unless your display driver need upgrading? but that shouldnt really interfer with Limewire.

Ok, sorry folks, but I just have to say this. For ALL you newbies, LISTEN UP!! If you obtained Limewire ( i could care less what version) from any where but LIMEWIRE, don't complain about things not working! I myself first downloaded limewire from another place (hard lesson learned) and quickly learned I needed to completely delete the download and went to LIMEWIRE and downloaded. No problems since that day (except when testing beta). My point? Don't come here crying about problems until you have aquired limewire from LIMEWIRE!! Like I said, sorry, but I just had to say that. I have tried to tell ppl over and over and well some just don't listen.
By the way, I still consider myself a newbie after all this time.

Oh yeah, one more thing, if you want to talk about running virus checkers and such, e-mail me at flrman@citcom.net. I can tell you what I have been running for a very long time now, and it sure isn't Norton, McAfee, or any of that crap (and I'm not knockin them, they good for what they are). Oh, and it is even free, wow imagine that. lol

Not that it really mater's but I have and do run many anti viruses not that I am paranoid I just like to test and to know what I am talking about. I have and do run at different times Avast, Norton, Mcafee , ZoneAlarm, AVG, and Panda. I have tested many others to many to list.

In all the testing and running of the different anti virus software I have done I have found that they all preform pretty much equally. Free or not generally paid for anti virus is have more features and tools and are more user friendly personally I prefer Norton but as memory hogs go it is about the worst but I find it to be the most user friendly of all.

When a new virus shows up it is pretty much a crap shoot as to who will discover and wright a fix for it first but once it is discovered they all pretty much share information. One thing is pretty certain if a new virus comes out one of the first places it will show up is on P2P networks.

Any way it doesn't really matter what anti virus you run what is important is that you run one. Preferably one that you understand and know how to use.
