wondering why

ukbobboy01 is correct when saying you should only run 1 at a time. I have done some testing with Avast and Norton running at the same time I have 1 old better computer I use for testing anti virus and other software. I will say that while intentionally downloading known viruses from the P2P net that the combination never let 1 get through. But in the same breath running them individually none got through either. So I can neither prove or disprove the efficiency of running them together but most people say not to do it but I do not know why.

I do know that running both will use more memory and CPU resources and there does mot appear to be any advantage to running them together so if for no other reason than that it would be make a choice and only run 1 at a time. I myself run Avast on 1 computer, Norton on 1,and McAfee on 1, I like them all but Norton is my favorite because I feel it is the most user friendly and easiest to use.
