what have i got?
 

I have bought this pc from my Bro, and he is no longer around, so my question is how do i find out if i have a cd or dvd writer on it? this might sound dumb but it's my first pc and i am trying to learn,:( :confused:

There's a couple of techniques I'm aware of (I'm not a great windows user.) Open the My Computer folder on the desktop. Then select your drive icon (probably either drive D or E), then go to File menu -> Properties > Hardware > Properties & this will tell you what type of drive it is.

Another way is to open your burner program & go to the file menu & select info about burner. Some burner programs will tell you on the front window what burner hardware it is catering for.
