When searching for an obscure song. I get a file with an advertisement in the disguise of the song I'm looking for. I tried to block host, but it comes back as another ip address. It is always 134kb in size but I'm thinking that it is affecting my search in that I don;t get as many, mp3's ,as I possibly could.

See autogenerated mp3 spam results

Try different search criteria. Sometimes people mispell artist names or songs or albums, also some are abbreviated. Initially try searching artist name under an Any Type search & then browse hosts that look as though they may have the rarer recordings. ie: vary your searches in as many ways as you can think of. Each time you may come up with some results you didn't get before.

I forgot to add: See Arrange search results by size (click on link)

134.5 kb

When I search for stuff I was hoping I could filter the search by setting a limit to the file size... I want to filter out those idiots that have trojans in files less than a meg in size. No matter what I type in they pop up at 134.5 k and stuff and what I am looking for is bigger than a meg so if I could filter this by file size would be nice... Any clues if limewire will ever do this....

I got this from the other post you replied to . I am having the same problem
Arranging the files by size does not get rid of this 134.5kb file it just moves it to the bottom of the page.

Thanks for the help anyway kk

They're working on something of that nature. A spam filter. At least arranging search results by file size, it helps to not be accidentally duped. Anything less than 1 MB is not going to be a normal audio song or video file, etc.

OK, Thanks for the input. My antivirus will pick it up if I mistakenly download the small file with the trojan.
The thing that I don;t unerstand , will the 134.5kb with 20 or 30 people supposedly on line with that file, hurt, or shorten my search for the MP3 that I am looking for????
