illegal or not

I was wondering if P2P is legal or not. Or is there just rules you got to follow to say legal. Or is it just plain old illegal. Can someone help me with this. thanks.

That would depend on what country you're from if from the States its illigal to swap/share/download files according to the RIAA. Other countries though may have different laws. If using P2P the best thing to do is keep the amount of files you share very low. If sharing over a 1000+ files the RIAA can sue you. Its illigal to download copyrighted material no matter what it is whether its music/films/software and or games.

Is there a way to empty the SHARED folder, but still be able to listen to music but also so I can keep my shared files low?

Click the library tab on LW then click on Shared Files then there is a button Configure... click this then you can choose the folders for sharing files.

You will have to make a new folder which is the best thing to do anyway. If you are running Windows XP click on Start/My Computer/C:/Documents and settings/user name or Program files or wherever you store files. Now go to the top left of the screen and click on File/New/Folder you have now created a new folder you can name it whatever you want lets say Share 1.

With that done you can now go to your current shared folder which I believe is in C:/Documents and settings/User Name I do not know if that is correct or not right click and drag you mouse down the page. You can then select move these selected items and move them to the new folder. You can now choose which files you wish to share and the ones you don't want to share. You can also preview all your new files and make sure they are good before sharing them.
