Need major help, please.

Ok, I have been using Limewire for a couple of years at least now but got a new computer and just recently downloaded it again. Everything was running fine until I tried to rename some files and then they'd turn red and says I can't do anything with it.

So I uninstalled Limewire and reinstalled it and the same thing happened. So I check on here and a thread said something about my shared folder not sharing or something and I couldn't figure it out so without thinking I deleted my shared folder and the reinstalled Limewire again and now this is what I see:

I know I completely screwed up. Any help?

I hit the refresh button and the box went gray and it says "You can configure the folders you share in Limewire's options." And then a button that says "Configure" is under it.

EDIT: I got it back to normal. At least I thought I did. Now when I try to rename my files and new one pops up and the old one stays there and turns red where I can't do anything with it.

Please help.

Deleting from the Library window is a no, no. You need to be sure what you're doing because as you're probably aware now, it by-passes the recycle bin. You'd need a file recovery utility to get them back. Norton Utilities is good. Free ones 1. PC Inspector File Recovery (click on link), & also 2. Restoration (click on link)

* When you renamed a file, it turned red b/c LW's share hasn't updated. It has not accounted for this new file name. If you press the Refresh button then that will force LW to re-account for all its shared files. You'll find the file will become black (being shared) after this. Also, the files within the Saved Files folder are always red b/c this folder is not shared. As you're probably aware, in the earlier versions of LW, if you didn't share your Shared folder then it wouldn't appear in the Library window. At least the saved files folder which is purely a reference folder will show what files you've recently downlded & always exists in the Library window even if you don't share your Shared folder.

BTW I notice you have some m3u files there. These probably will no longer work if the original mp3 files are missing.
