What do you mean a good copy? You didn't buy it? (Don't answer those 2 questions!;)) No we can't give you a detailed list of how to rip dvd's. But we can direct you to where to find out for personal backup purposes. Check out these links: 1. (a) http://www.videohelp.com/ & also (b) http://www.videohelp.com/tools & this is a good one 2. http://www.dvd-guides.com/

If you search those sites, they'll have tutorials or links to tutorials for particular programs or just the overall process. They also list tools to use for the purpose. New ones come out quite often so check out the reviews.

I'd recommend doing it in one of these formats: avi or mpeg. mpeg could be mpeg 1, 2 or 4. mpeg 4 also includes divX, Xvid, 3ivx, etc. AVI can also be a variation of those formats. AVI is both a format & a shell, similar to how QuickTime is.
