Deleting file

I am currently trying to free up some space on my computer and deleted (or so i thought) 20some video files from LimeWire. But for some reason it is not showing that i've gotten rid of anything (no more free space) Am i doing something wrong? is there someplace else i'm supposed to be deleting these files from?

Where did you delete them from? If you go tot the LW Library window & select the particular file from your shared you wish to delete, then press the Delete button. But I must warn you, once you delete a file using this function, it will be totally erased from the computer. There's absolutely NO room for errors!!! Be sure what you're deleting.

I think it's far better if you select the Shared folder, press the Explore button on the Shared or Saved Files folder & the folder will open up for you. Then you can choose what you wish to send to the recycle bin. If you make a mistake you can return it. Once you're 100% sure it's the correct file, then empty recycle bin.

ie: Go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder/Shared & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link)

thats what i did

I went to the library and deleted exactly what i wanted. why doesn't it go to my recycling bin if i do that? there is no trace of those files anymore, but then i still have no more free space. i'm really confused. Something this easy shouldn't be so difficult!

Try closing LW. Then have a look at how much space you have. Make sure the folder you see is up to date. Refresh it to make sure it updates the available free space.

i did shut down LW for that exact reason. i thought maybe it just needed to be refreshed.. i even restarted my computer..no luck..guess my computer is just holding onto my files somewhere and i can't find them...
thanks for the help anyway

Are you sure the file you deleted is from the same drive that needs extra space?

Also, if you're still downlding then your incomplete folder will be increasing in size during this time.
