file management software?
 

What software is best for managing files? For instance, to scan my computer for mp3 files so I have them in a list? I tried MediaMonkey but it has issues...LIKE duplicate listings...VERY annoying.

For music files (mp3 etc) I find iTunes excellent. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ free download. Others will have their preferences, and for other types of files the Mac which I use can do the job fairly well on it's own. The Mac will in fact search for all mp3s and list them in various orders ...

iTunes will give you a separate list of duplicates among many other things, but the tunes need to be loaded into iTunes first:)

Yes Windows can search for any files by using an asterisk * wildcard ( i.e. *.mp3 or *.txt if the search if for text files ) but it is a rather rudimentary function. I know there are software progs that are oriented specifically to manage music files. Just wondering what progs other people have found useful.
