How is LimeWire legal?
 

Hi, I'm considering using LimeWire Basic to download music.

I have one question, though: How is this legal? I mean, if I get these files for free, how is this file sharing network not hurting the music industry? I may be mistaken as to whether or not you are supposed to pay for your files, but I believe I am correct.

If anyone can explain to me why this program would be completely legal, I would greatly appreciate it!
