As 6_pac said, if you went to a site that offered LW with 1 year free updates then it was not the official LW site. Therefore you couldn't possibly have LW pro. You can check yourself:

1. Go to LW's help menu>About LW as described: Shows About LW Pro (click on link)

2. Membership? - **WARNING ** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites (click on link)

3. Get the official version here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml (BTW if you follow the pro link you'll see it offers 6 months of free updates, not 1 year. If you had pro, then they would have reminded you by email with a discount to continue with pro.
