What search-criteria do they see of my files out there? I am just starting up this thing, and am thinking about making it easy for others to find files I'mn sharing. So what string do they see? Do they find the exact string I read in my library window? I found some info aboout mp3 tags, which didn't help. Do they see these tags? I believe not. Though it would be of great help. If I add text to this strings to give other users better and more search criteria, I corrupt my filenames (MAC-User), and it's a pain in the *** to edit these, since not even copy'n'paste is possible. Maybe a stupid question. But if so, answer will be short at hand. Thanks from Germany Alex |
LimeWire doesn't read mp3 tags (yet?). However, some software (I believe BearShare does this) can read the bitrate of the mp3 so you know what quality of mp3 you are downloading. Yes - People see the exact string you see in your library window, not what you see in the Finder or Windows Explorer (aka My Computer). You can edit filenames from the Library. Selecting a file and the clicking on it again lets you change the name. Use the CTRL+C and CTRL+V command to copy and paste phrases. I usually name my files this way: ARTIST - SONG.mp3 Delirious - Deeper.mp3 :-) |
