Incompletes, do I just delete them?

When they preview or when they are downloaded they are this folder. If I have the song completed should I delete the Incompletes?

Don't get it? Incompletes.

You can do whatever you wish with them. You can delete the incompletes just make sure you have the file that is completed in you shared folder before deleting them.

When you preview a file using LW, it creates a special preview file stored in the incomplete folder. eg: PREVIEW-my movie.mpg, so I would recommend deleting these preview files.

There's times when some files you downld create multiple incomplete files. I suspect it's something to do with being from different sources or the hash of the original file has changed (perhaps the id3 tag has been adjusted) so LW then no longer uses it & creates another (I suspect it may use part of what was already downlded) but I'm only guessing. As Sphinx suggested, once you've completed the downld you can get rid of any extra incomplete files of that title. But again be sure it was one you have already downlded. I would also suggest you delete the file by opening the incomplete folder manually (use the Explore button) & sending the file to the recycle bin. Too many people make the mistake of deleting the wrong files when deleting via the LW Library window & since doing that way by-passes the recycle bin, it's a dangerous method if you accidentally erase the wrong one.

The Incomplete is a duplicate of the downloaded file. Maybe not exact but it is doubled so you have the song twice right?

Takes up hard drive space too in this case, true?

I have Limewire Pro. When I had Basic, the Incomplete files disappeared when the download was complete it seemed. Is this right?

Shouldn't Limewire tell you about the Incomplete folder so you can delete them for more hard drive space?

This is an age old issue I believe with the incomplete files. The incomplete file that's actually downlding will disappear once the file is 100% downlded. Or should I say it gets moved to the downld folder by LW as soon as it reached 100% & is verified as being the same as the original hash tree downlded.

No LW doesn't tell you. If you have downlded the file & you know it's 100% downlded & is ok. Then you can check to see if there's any duplicate incompletes. I found this was more-so a problem with LW 4.0 thru to about 4.6 I don't notice it so often now.

Yes, doesn't happen with this Pro version that I have. Basic did it while I watched it. It just disappeared. Of course I am downloaded my music to my own folder called Lime Music that I created. Maybe there is a setting to click to have them deleted after completion, huh?
