copying problems

hi i just bought a mp3 player and want to transfer my limewire files to it but cant seem to copy them over....have no idea and the book or site doesnt help. the mp3 player plugs directly into the usb port and i thought that it would be easy to do...unfortunately not. if anyone could give me some help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming that your mp3 player has the Drag and Drop feature. In Windows(if that's what you're using) click onto your shared folder(ie. My Music). With the mp3 player plugged into the USB outlet you can then left-click on the song and drag it to the player(E: Removable Disk).:)

Hi Cyberstalker, your a godsend, I was only just quizing Hobo on this exact subject, so when you want to transfere the selected songs and drag them, to where Im not quite getting it lol...
Many Thanks mate...;)

Hey there, wondering why! Long time no see!

When dragging the songs that you want to your mp3 player you have to do that in Windows Explorer. You can't do it through LimeWire. So when you're in Windows Explorer just go to the folder where your LimeWire music is saved and you can start to drag and drop your songs into your mp3 player!:) My mp3 player shows up like this in Windows Explorer. E: Removable Disk Yours will probably be the same.

When in LimeWire go into Tools>Options>Saving. Hold the mouse over Audio and you'll see a path to where your music is saved.

If you need anymore help just let me know!;)

Ok lol lets see, I have a creative and it came with its own program ie librarys and player and stuff like that, do I not use that program and just drag and drop ...this is driving me nuts how a simple little piece of technology can be so difficult, I am going to try what you suggested right now lol....;)

mp3 player

i just got one of those too. mine came with it's own library also.

you have to go into your mp3 library and browse to get to the music first. then drag & drop.

on mine it just copies the music to the mp3 library, then you can transfer the copy(ies) to mp3 player. it doesn't seem to matter which file/folder it comes from. :D

My mp3 player is Creative too! Did yours come with a program that can convert mp3's into .wav or .wma or vise versa? Mine did. I just with it could convert CD audio files into mp3's!:D

Hey Guys, the program did come with all the converting stuff, now I have worked out the drag and drop thing and have the list ready to go, but what then, ive plugged the mp3 in and it does nothing, what do I do to transfere the list to the mp3...lol...;)
This is driving me nuts....:D

transferring...

on mine (samsung) the library has three sections.
the search library, to get the files.
the main library, displays the songs.
then the mp3 library. this third library isn't there unless i'm plugged in. you have to drag from the main library to the mp3 library. when i'm actually transferring songs it says that on the mp3 player screen.
if you have a booklet, it has to have instructions.

i wonder if Cyber has used his-her mp3 player?

Once you've selected the songs that you want onto the player, click and hold down the left button and drag the songs onto the player which would probably be E: Removable Disk. The E: drive is the mp3 player. When you hold the songs over the E: drive, it should be highlighted. When it is let go of the button and the songs will be copied onto the player. To see the songs in the player just click on the E: Removable Disk and you will see the songs that's in your mp3 player!;) Btw, my mp3 player is called MuVo. Is that the one you have as well?

Yes I have used my mp3 player! It has great sound and I've found the drag and drop instructions to be very easy to understand. Are you trying to say that I don't know what I'm talking about?

wondering why January 9th, 2006 12:49 PM

Thanks mate ill get into that and report back to you....;)
my player isnt anything fancy, its a fx 120, I got it for my 12 yr old for xmas..lol

CyberStalker January 9th, 2006 12:54 PM

I was just wondering which one you had! Do you have Windows XP? The drag and drop can be done without the software if you have Windows XP. Anything older then that then you'll have to download the software.

wondering why January 9th, 2006 12:56 PM

Yes I do have windows xp, now your confusing me lol :D

CyberStalker January 9th, 2006 01:00 PM

I wasn't sure what OS you were using. Since you have XP you won't need the software.:) Sorry for confusing you!

Happy to help! I was playing around with mine today and found that you can also select all of the songs, click on Copy and Paste them in the Removable Disk.:)
