Security 101

What antivirus does everyone use here?

I was just curius of what brand you use and what programs?

Sleepless January 7th, 2006 06:19 AM

Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005
MS Antispyware Beta 1(Is free if you really look around. Was formerly called Giant antispyware, Before MS bought the rights)
SpywareBlaster (Free) Blocks out many sites connected to malware distribution
Ad-Aware SE PRO (Don't need Pro version. The Free version is almost as good. Pro only has a few more features)

CCleaner (Free) is also a good supplement for keeping your PC in good shape, just don't be too triggerhappy or it might get you in trouble

PeerGuardian2 (Free) for safer P2P sharing

Registry Mechanic for optimizing performance (Could be better featurewise especially cause it isn't free. (the free version is not worth the download)). Need something better. Anyone have a clue as to what program is better. Free or payd for doesb't matter.

What does that have to do with chatting? Your topic title is misleading.

i think by the time this thread is run out it will be "Security 101".

i currently use AOL security, obv don't recommend. not p2p compatible (per Lord...). and it allows AOL pop-ups.

i will be going with Microsoft & Norton.:)

I definently do not recomend Norton, unless you have alot of CPU power. It's a real Hog. Used it before changing to Panda, can't really recommend that either, also a hog but not as bad as Norton.

Been hearing good things about PC-cillin, does anyone here use that ? Thinking about trying it out
