Viewing Past Downloads

Hello,

I'm new to livewire, so bare with me, I only have about two questions.
1) If I download a song or video or whatever, and later decide to delete it from limewire, is there any way that can show up on limewire or on my computer in other ways? Like does it leave some of the files on my computer?
2)I have McAfee virus protection and firewall, do you think this is sufficient enough to keep me safe from downloading viruses from limewire? I try to be safe about stuff like that, and I want to make sure the risks are taken care of.

Thanks in advance!

Files that are deleted from limewire are also deleted from the folder they are shared from. Yes, McGafee is also what I use. Make sure virus protection is on before you open or preview downloads.

Just a follow-up, I searched the videos on Limewire, and was annoyed at all the porno-type videos that popped up on nearly every search. I just wanted to know if they truely were pornos or just someone changing the name to be stupid, and are they harmful (aka viruses?)

Thanks,

Always be wary of file sizes and yes there are many porno movies out there, people even place pornos under a childrens titled movies, if unsure use Bitzi lookup its great....

To keep those files from shoving up, You can go to the filters tab in the options, then add keywords to filter

example: porn, porno, gay, lespians, preteen, incest etc.

you can also type fileextensions like: .asx .mov .wmv etc. Remember the period . before writing file extensions, or you will be filtering results like movie if you only type mov

That will stop many of the unwanted files from showing up. especially the file extensions work well for me
