Limewire basic is free and Pro costs $18.88USD. Get it from the official site http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...um_intro.shtml.

If you paid for LW basic then you were scammed:(. If you can, try to get you money back either through your bank/cc company. Or contact the site you bought it from and demand your money back. Also consider cancelling you cc because sometimes they will tack on charges for things you didn't want plus you don' know what they will do with your billing iinfo.

Limewire is a file sharing app. What users share(upload/download) is the responsibility of that person. Having limewire does not give anyone the right to break copyright laws. Even if you buy the Pro version you still have to obey the copyright laws. You download files at your own risk.

Hope this helped. I wasn't trying to rain on your parade:).

hmm well... what if, since I have an Ipod... I move the songs to itunes and then delete them off of lime wire.... Will that make it look like i have less music than i do....
Also maybe I have Limewire Pro... what is the difference???... I thought I went to the site to get it though.... If you could get back to me thank you...

You can check what version you have, in limewire on the tool bar go to Help>About Limewire. More info here: How to check what version of LW you have.

Be careful what you delete from LW. If you delete songs from the LW library they do not go to the recycle bin, they are deleted off your computer. You can unshare files in the LW library without deleting them, right click on the file or folder and click stop sharing. More info here: DELETING FILES FROM LIMEWIRE LIBRARY-DON"T

The list of songs in itunes is a playlist and not the actual song file. They link to the song file(I think cause I don't have an ipod). So if you delete the song files in LW the songs won't play in itunes.

You should make another folder then copy & paste or drag & drop your files from LW into the new folder. Then you can delete the files from LW. You can access your shared folder from outside of LW. The default location is C\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared.

LW Pro connects to more sources than basic does. Which should mean better search results and faster downloads, but download speed depends on many things and upgrading to pro is no guarantee of faster speeds. Other than that they're about the same. Alot of people consider buying Pro as a donation to help develope future versions of LW.
