pls help, limewire prob, ty

pls can somebody tell me why does limewire use up 75% of my computers speed when im using it? if limewire is shutdown i have no probs with my speed. another issue is, download speed being so low. i have limewire pro 4.10.0 and i have difficulties downloading at a reasonable speed. ty for your help.:( :confused:
