Fed up!!!
 

I have been using limewire for a long time now and am finally getting fed up with alot of the rubbish people choose to share.

Things like:
FREE MP3 PLAYER FREE RINGTONES FREE RAZR PHONE
GET A FREE IPOD NANO

Now i can see that this might be interesting, if it acctually worked and wasn't in MP3 format!!!! I guarante you will get 20mins of silence from such things.
Also there have been a HUGE amount of people offering games amont other things in zip files for 851.7KB. These files are so obviously a virus or something, then there's these quicktime files that are only links to porn, I'm getting sick of having my searches filled up with this rubbish.

Surely limewire can do something to filter such rubbish out!? Because somewhere, probally now, someone is downloading something like this and as far as i can see, apart from pissing alot of people off, there's no benefeit to anyone, not even the host.......

"You" can filter it out yourself. That's what the "Junk" filter is all about. Glad to see you read the forum rules & searched your topic & looked through the Stickies in each section before posting. OK ..

When search results come in, select (use SHIFT to select multiple) & press the Junk button. This will filter them out of future searches. This filter is a dynamic learning filter. So you need to train it bit by bit.

Here's the things you need to look out for in your search results (& do some homework to catch up with everyone else):
1. (a) autogenerated spam results, & also (b) autogenerated mp3 spam results

2. WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on link) So basically anything under 1,000 KB is most likely a virus or spam.

3. Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results

Outside of the filters, for music be aware of this: T3 Spammers; mp3 Bit-Rates Versus File Sizes & why, google Overpeer to see what type of groups are being sponsored to pollute the network.
