You might need codecs for your WMP. See here for links to codecs & also VLC player (it's pretty popular & comes with built-in codecs):

Please don't post titles of what you're downloading as its supposed to against forum rules.

No need to download a 3rd party player. ;)

I rec the XP Codec pack for WMP.

I have the same problem. When I first got LimeWire it worked fine but RealPlayer was out of date when I downloaded the new version it became default. I didn't want it to be so I removed it reinstalled it and now nothing happens when I try to play video. Audio is fine. I downloaded Codecs nothing happened.

Quadzilla99,

You should've just changed the default player for video files. You can do this by right click on the file in windows(outside of limewire), then click on properties and you can change it from there. This link might help explain it better: How to set the Default video application

Don't know why they won't play now. It's usually a codec problem.

Try playing it with VLC media player or DivX player. These players have the codecs built in and are free. If the files play with these then it was prolly a codec problem.

Please a question to 6_pac. I am unable to watch videos in DIVX plus. Subsequently I went to the DIVX program and under options, I unchecked all file types (for DIVX as default player). I checked Limewire's "Use Limewire Player to watch videos". When I open a video (mov) DIVX still loads and fails to play the video. I rebooted the computer after the changes and even used Ccleaner to look for registry errors, (and corrected all errors found). rebooted and still DIVX plus comes up and fails to play the video. Am I missing something, or is there a DIVX bug/ Limewire bug? More specifally, DIVX loads and the clock starts running on the track, but it remains a black screen with no audio.
Thanks for any advice you may have.

Have you tried to see if VLC can play the file? :) VLC has it's codecs built inside the player so they will not be shared to the LW media player however.

Thank you for your solution Lord of the Rings. I will do a search for VLC and try that.

The VLC player works wonderfully. Thanks again Lord of the Rings.
