Is someone planning a fork?
 

Sooo, how long before someone takes the source to 1.8 over to sourceforge.com and removes the ads and spyware from it? After all, the code is released under the GPL...

I understand the needs of the developers to put food on the table, but putting this crap in their product after swearing up and down that they wouldn't stoop to such methods is very, very lame.

So, thank you for the gift of your source. Now please follow in the footsteps of other companies offering open source software with nebulous, foolish, or non-existent business plans (ie. Eazel) and go out of business immediately. Then volunteer developers will continue the project in a sensible manner.
