Anti Virus Software Problems

Dear All

Can anyone suggest why this is happening please?

I recently bought a license for Malwarewipe.

When I do a scan with Ad-Aware SE and/or Spybot Search & Destroy, they both report Malwarewipe in their lists of possible problems to be fixed.

If I let them "fix" the problem, then obviously Malwarewipe no longer works and I have to re-install it. I downloaded a fresh copy from the website but this didn't help and I've uninstalled the program for now till I find out what's going on.

This problem wasn't there at first when I bought Malwarewipe on-line and all these programs worked ok together as far as I can tell.

I've contacted the support people at Malwarewipe but they are unwilling or unable to reply.

Be grateful for any advice.

Some spyware programs have spyware themselves. It seems the program you got a hold of does have problems. Find it on the list here: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_...e.htm#products
The testing of it by the spyware forum has shown it's not very good anyway. ;)

Oh, crap! I've chucked away US$49.95 then. That list of dodgy ant-spyware seems huge.

Thanks for the help as always. I'd better spend some time researching for a good recommended one.

I think you already have 2 of the best; as in Spybot & Ad-ware. Check that page I gave you for some others that "are" recommended. However, stay away from PestPatrol. It doesn't like LW. I've written to the author of that site & his response was not too warming. I think it's poor a spyware program should detect spyware where there is "none!"

Thanks again.

I'm looking at the link now and have d/l SpyCatcher and SpywareBlaster to try out.
