1.8 is crap!

I've been using Limewire for sometime now and have always liked it. I installed 1.8 last night and have already uninstalled it. I have never been so disappointed in a new software release. If the banner ads and the shortcuts to crap software the installation software places on your desktop were not bad enough, THE PROGRAM RUNS LIKE CRAP! I am going to run anti-spyware software just to make sure they didn't install anything else on my system.

i also tried 1.8 but was very disappointed in its performance. i like limewire so much that i was willing to put up with banner ads to support it, but the performance was not acceptable so i went back to my old version.
i like version 1.6b, it is one that i have the most luck with on my system.

Great. Now LimeWire installs spyware, just like BearSht. Time to switch to Gnucleus.

No!

Bearshare in fully operational after deinstalling the spyware, Limewire not...

In bearshare the installation is optional in Limeiwre it doesn´t matter what you choose, the spyware will be installed...

I think there is a difference...

You're suffering from advertophobia or something? Or do you believe if you don't have spyware on your computer you're safe from companies knowing anything about you? This forum logged your IP and so did the guys at www.oncetheywere.realteens.com. Even ad-ware won't pass much more information to the ad-provider via http-requests.

i have to agree id rather pitch in $5 or whatever then see damn banner ads, would be nice if we had that option. theres too many free clients out there without banner ads. i see enough of them when i have to do research for my job, not to mention no one ever uses the adware that is installed or clicks on the ads. why even bother?
