Default Is Limewire Pro good for 1xPC to 1xPC file share?

Hi all,

I've searched and searched but can't seem to find documentation on this issue.

This might sound strange, but I don't want to use Limewire to acquire freeware, or share my files with million of users.

I'm just looking for an application that will allow me to connect my computer with another computer, and share files across those computers only.

Specifically with the following functionality:
- only provide access to persons (IP numbers) I authorise
- only allow access by password
- be able to define on a per folder basis what's accessible and what isn't
- allow the other user to upload files to my computer (and vice versa)

Essentially I want to create a private network without having to go through the complication of setting up an FTP server on my machine, or play around with fiddly network settings.

Is Limewire Pro a good application to facilitate this? Or should I look elsewhere?

Thanks for your help

Tim

You can do a direct connection with someone if they both have LimeWire/Frostwire by typing in their IP address. In the search tab at the bottom, you'll see "Direct Connect".

Thanks,

But can you block all users from downloading except those you direct connect with?

And can you password protect, give permissions on a per IP number basis?

Does a directconnect mean the other user sees every folder on the pc? Or only the Limewire file folder?

And can you upload to another PC using directconnect? Or is Limewire a 'download' only application?

Thanks for clarifying.

Tim
