![]() First an apology if I have used forum incorrectly. New to forum usage. Downloaded the free version (just wanted to make sure it worked). Tried to download some music by just entering in the artist field (tried Mary Black & Blind boys of Alabama), doesn't find anything. Is there a chance that my firewall is blocking (not sure that I set it correctly) or would I not then even get to the bit where the Limewire icon rotates? If is blocking, would I get an indication in Limeware? If blocking, how do I change? ( using Norton). Thanks in my ignorance, John H |

![]() Maybe you just need to click the "file" tab in your Limewire and then click "connect" to make sure you are conected to the program. I do that sometimes and relized that I'm not connected. In the bottom left you will see a signal bar, when it is GREEN you know that you are connected. When it is RED you are not. Hope that may of helped. If not, hope you find the help you're looking for. |

![]() Thank you for your reply. Perhaps my ignorance could be of use to others. On the File tab "Connect" was greyed out & "Disconnect" was dark & therefore available. I therefore took it that I was properly connected. The GREEN signal bar was although, RED. So to Norton, ---- Personal Firewall > Configure > Programs > Toggle to Limewire & to Limeware Swarmed Installer & change from "Blocked" to "Permit All" > OK. So it was the Firewall that was stopping the program working even though the File Tab gave the indication that I was connected Now works. Thanks, John H Last edited by jhai; February 14th, 2006 at 02:28 PM. |

![]() New Question. Please let me know if this should be a "New Thread". As I say new to this forum business. What is T1 & T3? Have a very high speed ADSL Internet connection. When joining selected DSL. Should I use any other, & can I change if you indicate the need? Thanks |

![]() Yes, another question. Should have included in last, (yes I'm quite old). I promise to stop annoying you soon. Whenever I connect to Limewire the "Lan" light on my modem flickers continuously. I am not downloading anything, only connected to Limewire. Is this normal,as it does not happen on any other site? Thanks again.again |
