Limewire was unable to write a necessary file because you do not have the necessary permissions. Your preferences may not be maintained the next time you start Limewire, or Limewire may behave in unexpected ways.

Now ive tried everything i unistalled and re installed tried using the new version makes no diffrence and i am head admin on pc so i dont understand why it doesnt have permissions anyone able to help?

This problem has been raised a few times on the forums and never resolved as far as I can see. I am trying to contact the one person that I feel will know the answer. He may be out of town but be patient.. I'ld like to know the cure too:)

Well I cant answer this one either from the research I have done I do not think it is a windows access problem. From what I have been able to find out which is basically not much it is most likely a Java problem. What version or version's of java are installed on your machine. Have you tried installing Java using the off line installer. Have you tried installing Java then deleting the Java folder then reinstalling it using the off line installer. I do not know that any of these things will help but you might want to give them a try.

You can get Java at the link below.

What version of Limewire do you have & where did you get it? What are your computer specs? Are you an adult or a student or running it from home do you have permission to use P2P? And, if you're running it from home, check to see if someone hasn't locked you out of Limewire. or, you dont have your SP2 settings, set to enable Limewire, P2P downloads through, & check your firewall settings to make sure you're configs are correct.

Sounds like someone is preventing you access to Limewire, if that's not the case then, Im not sure whatelse could be preventing you from access it. Browse the forum stickys while you're at it and see if this has come up for PC's running Limewire.

check for virues/trojans/worms etc. do a system scan. check your computer to make sure nothing has gotten infected. or follow Grandpa's advice and check the version of Java you have.

also, what do you have the Limewire licence set on? Tweak your limewire settings to accept downloads.
