Is it legal to download videogames? I'm very conserned because I would not like to get into any trouble.

No its not legal to download copyright material.....

Ok, thanks. If it's not legal to download copyrighted material how come I've been able to download many songs from artists?

Wondering Why said it was not legal to download copyright material, and whilst I'm sure she would not do anything illegal, any more than I would, I understand there are some who do stray from the straight and narrow, and you should appreciate there is a difference between legality, and ability.

You did say if it was legal, not if you can do it or not of course you can download whatever you want....

BTW be really careful with games as many of them contain viruses

There's conditions upon which you need to agree before being allowed to downld LW. If you decide to compromise that agreement, then the risk is on your shoulders, nobody's elses.

If new users would only take the time to read the forum posts they would see this has come up a hundred times. P2P IS NOT legal. And never was, no matter what you download. Its ALL copyrighted material. Depending on what country you're from. If from the States, it's illigal but people do it anyway.

All you get on the sotware/game downloads are demos which require a great deal to open, run & play, go buy the games & software, you'll be better off.

Well that's not 100% correct. p2p is not illegal. It depends upon what you downld or share. If I share pictures of my holiday, that's not illegal & nor is it copyright & nor in breach of most countries' laws. There's lots of non-copyright material on the network (eg: creative commons), problem is, most people seek what "is" copyright. But you're right about location. Different countries & even different states have different laws about this issue.
