False connection speed

why do so many limewire users lie about their true connection? I know of several 56K and slower users that click the T1 or better box. Why? Then when someone pulls a file from them it either takes forever, or the mislisted user breaks the feed because it takes all of the bandwidth they have.

If you don't have the bandwidth, don't claim you do, it will save a lot of problems for everyone. Clicking cable or T1 will not make it go faster...

Limewire needs to remove this option from the next release.

I list myself as a lower speed than I really am. The the bottom feeders don't download from me that way, they pick an idiot that lists their connection as fast, or faster than what they really have. You know when you hit a real T1 or T3, it really does fly.

As far as false listing, my guess is it comes from morons that don't know what they have. Typica AOL users...
