limewire lost
 

i got scammed by one of those webs. i paid for one year. this week my lime wire was acting off. it would not download. and i removed it lost he soft ware. anyone know how to get it back.
please let me know. thanks. have used it with no virus. as of what i know.

If you got scammed, you need to contact your CC company/bank & report it. Most of them have a department that deals with scams/fraud. Read the sticky at the top of this page about membership, it's got some good advice.

why in the world would you want to get a hacked verson of Limewire back? You can go download the free basic version, it works just the same. You better run an Anti Virus scanner on your system ASPA. Bogus version contain viruses.


www.limewire.com and make sure you report that transaction as fraud. and beware because scam sites like to steal cc numbers & use them.

i downloaed a clean version. and it wont open. like i had before.
it installs files but wont open. i had no problems for months . nealry a year now it is not opening. anyone have same experience. i looked infiles. and it said something about coruption and to email a bug adress. i was worried they shut it down like e donkey.

any other site is fake or a hack.


Limewire.com has the only working legal versions. Downloading it off P2P or a P2P website is NOT the way to get a working copy.

new version from limewire.com. and will not open to the network. this is exactly what i saw go on before. do u think that i hit some thing on my system to block it. have icon, etc no open.

Delete your preferences folder . Uninstall your Java & then reinstall it using the offline installer. Instructions for both here

you dont have to delete your pref. You might have picked up a virus. Scan your system. If you got your copy from the official site then there shouldnt be anything wrong with it.

When Limewire acts up, that usually means your computer picked up a virus and or a trojan.

If scanning doesnt work, uninstall it, delete it, and start fresh, I rec, you follow these steps first to see if you got infected.

I still run basic version.30. without a problem, its old and works like a charm.

also, check your system specs, see if you are able to run a P2P program on your computer and that no one is blocking you from using it. whats your ISP and does it allow for P2P use? Are you at home or school etc?
