Default Search confusion

Hey Guys

Ok, I search for a certain avi file. I find 1 source. I browse host but the file does not show up in the browse. I write down the ip. The next day I search again and get the same results (including ip). What is going on (file would not dl on either day)? For a file I really want I do not mind waiting but I do not understand why it shows up in the search but it is apparently not there.

Thanks

Lazlow

I have also found this with files that do download perfectly well, and I have no explanation other than to say that "Browse host" is not perfect

When they download fine but do not show up with browse host then I understand that browse host is not working. But when they do not download , not show up on the browse host (other files from same host do appear in browse), and do so for multiple days, I think it must be a search problem. (I know it is an odd sentence but it sorta works)

It does seem that certain users get targeted in some way by more bogus files than others ... This may well be due to their location and/or the hosts they tend to connect to. This should be a situation in which the junk filter could be useful. I understand it is possible for a file to identify itself as something it is not, and the spammers are managing to put these out, and at times are, presumably, confusing the search mechanism. That is my reasonably wild guess.....

Hobo

Thanks for the reply. I had it set at 25, so I am cranking it up to 50. It is the best idea I have heard so far.

Thanks
