movie has no picture

I downloaded a movie and it only has sound. It has more than 700 mb so i am assuming it is the full thing. How can I get the picture to work?

You probably need to download something called a CODEC, which will decode the format the movie is in to something your computer can display.

The most common ones are XviD and DivX, so check what kind of file it is first, and then download that CODEC. (should be easy to find on the net, and free)

We generally recommend people using VLC player as it has in-built codecs & is very reliable. See links for it here CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

Might be a problem with the codecs. You could go to the link below and install the K-lite codec pack:

http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/

And when you've done so, you can use the G-Spot Codec Information, which is part of the package (it's all free) to check the codec of that movie (if it doesn't already work with the included Media Player Classic.)
Another option would be the VLC player at http://www.videolan.org/

If neither works you should get back here and ask one of the moderators, but then give them some details about your system and so on

Cheers
