very angry mom

 I was downloading a movie called the great raid and it was halfway done and I decided to preview it. To my surprise, it was definitely not the great raid. It was a full blown porno. And to add to my anger, my 5 year old son was sitting right there and saw it. I thought we were supposed to be protecting children from that? I didn't know how to explain 4 guys screwing a woman! And its happened with other movies also such as ice age, a childrens movie! What are people thinking? Is there anything that can be done to stop this?

Any Gnutella program has *NO* control over what's being shared on the network. Some are really changing names of files. What you can do to be sure you are downloading what you want is to right-click on the file (apple-click on Macs) go in advanced options->identify with Bitzi (something like that, I'm translating from French to English here). Users are tagging files on Bitzi so you know if it is legit and of good quality.

So, next time, beware as this is P2P. You have to know how to use the tools to be safe.

Bonne chance

peanutbutter April 14th, 2006 09:15 AM

this stuff

so yeah i hope those people who put that nasty-degrading-filthy, stuff on there gets caught because its like they are setting us normal non child molesters up to get into trouble is there any way we can fix this.

well one thing you can do to help the 'cause' is to report the IP addy of the offender here: http://www.cphotline.org/

to really remove the file from your HDD, you will need an 'eraser' which will overwrite that sector of your disc with random data similar to a Department Of Defense (DOD) algorithm....Norton's SystemWorks will do this, along with plenty of other 'dedicated' erasers...

How do you know its still on your hard drive?

Attention

I have Norton Antivirus installed and I am downloading software or movies and time and time again the software is infected with a backdoor virus. Even if you try laplink it downloads a backdoor virus.

SO BE AWARE.

The LIMEWIRE servers are infested with these virii and all seem to be 197.7kb, 69.4kb and 851.7kb

The angry mom is right aswell that limewire is not being used for all the proper reasons of file sharing anymore.

I have even come across real child porn which is very disturbing just by doing keyword "edited". So watch out. I would suggest uninstalling limewire. As well as you accidently download the wrong thing then the Police come to your door and arrest you for downloading indecent material or illegal file sharing or mp3's breaking copyright. If all of you have noticed by now the IP address which is like edited CAN be traced by police and FBI.

This is the number appearing at the top of all file sharing done on any network.

So make a stand now and uninstall your copy and get them to sort their servers. EMULE has already had two Razorback servers closed down and the rest will follow soon.

You can not expect to have illegal filesharing continuing. The company whom owns limewire dont realise that they are next for the chopping board.

hey moron..actually that would be a compliment, as I'm sure you know what's really up...there are no LimeWire servers..end of discussion...all files are hosted by individuals spread across the whole planet, which makes it rather impossible to 'clean' things up...sure, go ahead and contact authorities about disgusting stuff...just make sure its actually illegal..and I of course support said reporting, as I have done so myself many times...and NO I am in no way affiliated with the company LimeWire LLC...I'm just an individual like others here (unpaid and most times unappreciated)...basically mr. dillhole, go shove a barbed broomstick lubed w/chunky peanut butter up your ****, cause you deserve it for making such an erroneous post...
