Absolutely disgusted

 Used Limewire for a couple of weeks free and found it great, signed up for Pro and have wasted the last two days downloading what I thought were kids video's only to find that not one of them is legit, all were porn. Disgusting and really annoying to think that I paid for what I thought was a quality service. Does anyone check? The preview button does nothing so I had to wait for the whole file to download each time.

You can look up files before download with Bitzi, if the file's been rated then you'll have some idea of the content/quality
Bitzi

If the preview button's not working, maybe you need codecs for your player. Or you can try VLC, it's free & comes with built in codecs.

It might have been a good idea to get these sort of problems ironed out before buying Pro;)

This is what people share. LW has nothing to do with what's being shared on the network. LW does have filters but some common sense also goes a long way. For downlding videos, see some tips here also Movie download issues

Some things to add to your keyword filter: Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results

Thanks guys, I had not had any problems with content prior to paying for Pro - so didn't have problems to iron out at that time. Thanks for your advice. The titles in no way indicated Porn.....as I said they were childrens programs..... is the filter able to assess content based on whats in the file or just the title?

Only the title. But that's where using Bitzi web lookup before downlding the file comes in handy.

download a small part of your files drag them to your desktop and view the start. easy way to see if the file is ok
