Does No One download anymore? I have recently opened up three areas of my Hardrives to give sharing to over 1100 mp3's and after 30 minutes NOT one mps was being uploaded. these are great hits from the 50's 60's 70's 80' and 90's.. ????? |
You may have a misconfigured Firewall, Or a firewall in your modem/router may be blocking others from DL from you. |
Well I finally have four... three ... two on right now.. |
Check your library window, & click on your shared folders. Then your shared files will show. Check the hits & upload columns as they speak volumes. Also, do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If true then you're fine, but if it's false then you have a firewall problem to sort out. ;) |
I've got hits on just about if not all 1100 plus files.., But no downloads,, or should I say very very minimal downloads,, two .., three , sometimes four .. then at times nothing,, almost not worth to keep open and running.. |
Have a look at the bug report. If 'recieved incoming this session' is false then only a few people may be able to push through your firewall to upload. Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue earth)? |
the firewall is Blue,, I have four uploads happening now after 3 hours.. |

You do not appear to have any firewall problems. |
so I'm back to my original question. Does no one download anymore.?? I have a huge category of 50's 60's hits ,, some of them very very hard to find if at all on CD . Weird :( |
It could be to do with the names of your files. When downloading a file you look to see how many people are sharing it and usually select the one with the most users, that way you connect to more hosts and have faster download speeds. If you have files named 'well' and 100% correctly ie. artist-title you may be the only one sharing that file, as if you notice on limewire a lot of files will be named t648492_artist_title etc. Limewire for very good reasons does not associate files together which are the same size and have similar names. I noticed this when downloading movies, most of what I downloaded had stupid letters or numbers in the file name. when I renamed it no-one downloaded the file. If i kept it exactly the same they did! |
crawler_nt's point about naming is interesting. Also, do your audio files have id3 tags? Having both file names & id3 tags will help them to be found. The more id3 tag info the better. I always try to tag using "both" ID3v2.x & ID3v1.1 Tags will help files show up in search results because with more info, there's a greater chance a part of that info will tie in with someone's search. BTW your bug report looks healthy to me. |
