Files not downloading

Can anyone tell me why files are simply sitting trying to connect, for over a week, with no progress. Allegedly there are 100 off each file I am trying to download, but still no joy. Many thanks.

This is a kind of fake file that's been showing up lately. Just kill the download! Try to download a file with less than 10 sources (still with 4 or 3 stars), & maybe cable/dsl or modem. This seems to happen most often with new releases & really popular files. Just search again. Vary your search terms & look for artist/actor or album title, rather than song/video title. Try the All Types search, that can yield different results. If you're looking for a video file, use Bitzi (music files don't tend to be rated as often as video files).
How to use Bitzi

It's a big PITA but all you can really do is be patient & keep searching until a good source comes along;)

There's so many fake files around at the moment, just try downloading from a smaller number of hosts...If that fails just wait awhile, it took me just over a week to finally get a file I was after...;)

It's more than just "junk fiolders"

I'm sorry, but I keep hearing the same answer everywhere, that we're just trying to download a junk folder. There is a real problem out there. I cannot download songs that are neither new nor trendy, from well known bands, from files with 50+ or zero hosts, from modem or cable/dsl or T1. My download shows up in the pane but never ever gets to 1% and eventually "needs more sources".

I have reinstalled limewire, refigured my firewalls, done everything I can think of and Limewire suggests.

Like I said, I downloaded some popular 90s tunes two weeks ago and now I can't even download the same songs.

Any other suggestions besides "junk folders"?

Thanks!

What has changed between now and then?
LimeWire version? Firewall update? Anything at all?
