How to send messages to all users/Need help in getting number of Gnutella users

How can I know that "how many users are connected on Gnutella network" ?

I am connecting to Gnutella using limewire application.

How could I know number of users activated on that particular day?
Need help in getting this information.

For what purpose?

foolofthehill's response here gives you an idea of how many your program can actually find at one time: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=56566

I merged your 2 threads because I think my answer more or less answers both questions. At least in part anyway.
AFAIK I don't think you can contact all users.

I hope messaging all users is disabled, or better yet, non-existant.

Sounds like a spam-bot's dream, and a user's nightmare.

Besides, legitimate search queries only reach a portion of the network currently.

Sam answered the network size question http://www.limewire.org/forum/showthread.php?t=93 and I hope this means http://www.limewire.com/english/content/netsize.shtml might be up and running again soon.

THat would be welcome. 4M users: WOW

Limewire wont give you those kinds of stats. IF user stats is what you're looking for then try Bearshare.

oh and its nice to see how my posts are being deleted. Lets see how long this one will last.

Hi Sphinx

Actually I don't think you post were deleted the serve crash for a few day and when it came back on-line it had lost around a months of post. They used the last saved data base when it came back on-line

Hi Kaylamatt, try this post. The problem could be with your college. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...m-college.html.
