Viruses in Dalai Lama zips

 Much as one should beware with .zip files anyway, both .zip files had viruses which my anti-virus caught.

Did you uninstall Limewire through Control Panel/Add Remove Programs? If not, do that, reboot, then try again.

No don't uninstall using the add/remove control panels. That's a dumb idea. You'll cause problems doing that with a non properly uninstalled program. LW hasn't had that ability using add/remove control panel since about LW version 4.3 which was well over a year ago. You only use the Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstaller OR
Go to the program folder to find the uninstaller. OR
Reinstall LW & at the beginning of installation it will uninstall the previous version so long as it was version 4.4 or later.

why can't you use the control panel to uninstall it?

It's due to the type of installer. LimeWIre changed their installer so it doesn't work with the add/remove control panel. If you use the add remove control panel it will cause problems with an improperly uninstalled program; ie: not all components will have been removed from the registry, blah blah ... hehehe

Once you've been using Limewire for a few years you catch onto these types of changes. As these were important changes. I think for the better. Limewire tends to install much easier than it used to without as many side issues (ignoring java issues!) Keep up with the changes & you won't regret it. ;) :)
