I use the one in the google toolbar. Think it works pretty well

Also delete your cookies and temperary internetfiles

Also if you are using a PC press start and there run.. regedit <Enter> look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER then software and delete anything really suspicious. NOTE be careful that you don't delete any legit entries

hope this helps :)

I also use google toolbar but i think sleepless answer a little nieve here (no offense m8) if someone says to me how do i block pop ups i think major adware straight away, for instance my google toolbar reports blocking 7 pop ups in about 10 mths. In u are getting 20 or 30 a day these are not normal pop ups ur infected and its normally wiv the more serious ad ons that cant be dealt wiv by the likes of spybot or ad adware. Some of the more common ones are ist bar toolbar, coolwebsearch, adyeildmanager blabla. They are normally picked up mainly through downloading active x from bad websites ie 98% of porn ones. Most of the ones ur likely to have would need serious removal tools top of my list would be spy sweeper its not free though but you can download a trial version which will locate but not delete most adware of this level, If its something alone the lines of coolwebsearch u will need a shredder no doubt.

That's why I asked Franchise to clean cookies and tempfiles as well as use regedit to look if anything nasty was there

Alot of the time there is nothing wrong with your computer exept cookies. I know this because I do not erase browserhistory exept when I start to get bothered by popups.

oh and none taken ;)

Also I am pretty sure Franchise will post again if it doesn't work

Oh and scanning is not something you only do when there is something wrong. Once every three weeks or so is probably enough though. Apart from downloaded files offcourse. ALWAYS scan them before opening
