Help with saving downloaded movies

I know this is probably very obvious. But I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do with the movies I download from Limewire. I am noticing my computer is getting slower. I thought my computer would allow me to burn DVD's but it appears as though I can only burn cds. Any advise would b helpful. I also thought of sending them to my yahoo account but it does not seem to be working either.

Im a little unsure as to what your after here;).
Personally i auto tranfer anything downloaded to a folder on desktop i find it easy access. I find it hard to belive that downloaded movies are slowing ur comp down unless ur hd is full or nearing full. Go to start my computer and hover cursor over c drive to see how much space you have remaining. Concerning your drive cd rewriter/dvd combo is a drive that will only burn cds and play dvds, dvd +/_ rewriter will burn both. If your harddrive isnt full other problems your likely to have that are slowing you down is grayware or virus infection, go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and treat ur pc to the full adware and virus scan. Delete all temp files offline content and cookies. Also ensure you only have programs running at start up that you require and that your toolbar isnt full up running programs u dont require. Also be sure your not running crack programs in your toolbar as they often conflict and slow you dramaticly and make sure you have all the relavant microsoft patches downloaded. Hope this helps.

Still need help!

Thank you for your help. I tried to use the trend micro website, but for some reason it is not processing. Also, you suggested I only run programs that I need, but I am not sure of how to tell my computer to only run certain programs. You mentioned crack programs and something about a toolbar and forgive me, I am not a computer expert so I have no idea of what you are referring to.

For anyone else who might be reading this, my problem is that my computer seems slower after downloading movies from limewire. The person who responded to my request has been very helpful, but I need someone who can break it down and explain it to a lamen. Thank you all so much.

OK what Daydo is saying: firstly you need to run an AV scan to see if you have picked up a virus....
After that you need to see if you have enough space on your computer to store your movies....
Does your computer have a dvd writer or only a cd writer....;)

Please only respond if you can help!

I appreciate the last person who responded as well. But you offer no advise. So please only respond if you know about computers and can help.

I understood Daydo up until the point he or she started talking about crack programs and such. I don't know what that is. If someone can help me understand also how to tell my computer what programs to run and not to run when my computer starts up. Also about the crack programs. What is that. For those of you who are computer wizards and can help my initial request was how to continue downloading movies from limewire without slowing my computer down. I thought maybe I could store them somewhere where it would not affect the storage on my computer. Also per Daydo's suggestion I tried to go onto the trend micros website to do a scan and it was impossible. I don't know if it is my system or what, but this program just will not run. Does anyone else know of a similiar program that will help me scan the computer. Thanks in advance.;)

Well let me say that you offer hardly no info on what your computer specs are ...Who is your ISP and do you have a brick wall in front of the world on LW...Do you not have an Anti Virus app on your comp, if you dont thats crazy...

Please only respond if you can help!

Please don't respond telling me whats crazy and what is not. This forum is not for criticism it's for trying to help people. If you are not interested in helping me please don't waste you time or mine.

Wondering Why

Okay no attitude. Just getting bored with the same person replying offering no help.

;) I am wondering why the same person who has not had the where withall to go to the beginning of the post to read my initial question keeps on and on and on replying to me. I am wondering why you don't have anything else to do. Obviously you cannot help so please stop baggering me.

Okay, moving on. I would really appreciate anyone who can ad value to this service by bestowing some of their knowledge on me.

The inital question was, because of my downloading movies from Limewire it seemed as though my computer was getting slower. I followed Daydo's advise as best I could except there was a program he or she referred me to that did not seem to be working. Daydo also mentioned crack programs. Daydo maybe you can break this down for me. You also mentioned setting my computer up to where it only runs specific programs. How do I do that. Thank you Daydo and anyone else who might be able to help

K il try a little more;)
Firstly a cracked program is something like a program u have that may not be the original program as it was intended by the manufactorer, ie ur not 100% certain where you got it from is valid for example downloading copyrighted programs for free or dowloading from bad websites what u assume is a bonafide download but is in fact stolen and altered by the owners of that website.
Your second problem the trendmicro page what exact problem are you having with it, does it give a error message or just shut down during scanning?Which kernal are you using the java or activex try the other kernal. Be aware that when it is running it may appear to be doing nothing but is actually scaning i would estimate a time of maybe 45 min for the average comp for the scan. The reason i suggested this site is because i have found it very capable of picking up adware which would be more likely to slow you than a virus. The toolbar is in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and will give a icon for every program that has either run at startup or that you have activated since, while these programs arnt running on the screen if they are in the toolbar then they are running never the less. Anything that you dont want there ie running at all you need to right click it and select exit or shut down.
I would not recommend sending downloaded vids to anywhere other than your comp due to security issues (even tho im sure they arnt copyrighted) unless ur 100% certain of the security of where they are sent.
Was your hd full when you checked it or not? You could burn your movies to cd in data format these would work in the pc u used to burn them but not in your dvd player and probs not other pcs either.
