ok video no audio

Hi everyone... I just downloaded a movie file an for the first time I get the video just fine but I can't hear a single word of it. I've downloaded before and this has neve happened. I checked the fie in Bitzi before downloading and it says it's Cam job but ot looks ok watcable the problem is no sound whatsoever. Is it a porblem with the file? Was I suposed to leave my speakers on wile downloading? Did I do something wrong? Plase help. The other times all I do is check the file in Bitzi hit download and wait till it's done. The others have turned out fine, video and audio. Thanks please help. I'm not a genius in this.

Doesn't matter if you leave speakers on when downloading. Is your mute button on? What player do you use?

You probably need AC3 codec

Can't find thread with link. Try searching the forums for links to codecs or google it. Or try this one but I have no idea if it works. I use Nero Showtime for them.

This is just a guess BTW

Me Again

Thanks for all the replies... After I download the complete file I always check it out before burning it to a DVD or cd. The player I use to open it is Nero Showtime. So I still have the file but I haven't burned it to a dvd yet. Good day to all of you. Thanks again.

hi

hello sleepless since you are online and I also use Nero Showtime to open my downloaded video file does this audio problem happen frequently to you also. What do you do? Help please. So the problem is with the file this doesn't necessarily mean that all the files will have this problem. Sorry for all the ???ssss Thanks again.

In the VERY few instances that Nero does not play the sound I either use a player called Quicktime Alternative (which is Mediaplayer Classic with some codecs that Nero does not have) or VLC Mediaplayer. I would try VLC. (link below). I have not been able to burn those to DVD-format with sound, but I haven't really tried since I just connect my PC to my TV and Stereo. If you have a fairly new computer and TV that should not be a problem. They all have some kind of video in/out. I use S-video since I have that in both.

BTW Nero7 has a (new?) update out. Haven't got around to getting it yet but it may solve your problem.

nero 7

sleepless I have Nero 7 Ultra Edition. Does that update you mention apply for this version also? I ask because I've had trouble with this progarm it didn't even bring the help files in each application. Luckily I managed to download with a trick. Thanks again.

Are you sure it isn't called Nero 7 Premium.

The helpfiles can be easily integraded into the program with a seperate download. There is no need to keep them seperate. You just download them and install if I remember correctly. It was a bit of a hasle the first time since you had to replace every helpfile in every program. I don't know if they have been updated too, but if you are use to using Nero then the helpfiles aren't really needed.

As I said I haven't updated it yet so I really have no idea what kind of fixes have been made and codecs added. All I know is that the last update had many fixes in it. Many had problems with it freezing during certain operations etc.

It hasn't been out that long so there are probably more fixes made in the future. Just register at Nero and you will be notified through email when updates are available.

If Nero Showtime can't play the sound I very much doubt that burning to DVD will have sound on it. You could always give it a shot though. After updating off course.

Try using G-Spot or afreecodecVT to check the file. Then you will know the name of the audio codec and write an E-mail to support at Nero.com asking what options you have if any. This will also help for the next update, If they know that their custumers think it lacks something they might add it later.

www.afreecodec.com Don't know where to get G-spot

note: afreecodecVT can only identify codec used for .avi files

Could you PM me the exact filename of the videofile is question, then if I have some spare time I can have a look see and maybe give you a better answer.

edit: Found link for G-Spot
