This version states that it is 1.8b and is available from the "other clients" page.

I stuck all of the files from the zip into a directory, made a shortcut like "\program files\javasoft\jre\bin\javaw.exe" -jar runlime.jar

and pointed its working directory to the limewire directory.

Massive disk access after I specified my shares but since I share over 2000 e-book zip files this is normal.

No spyware but strange xerces.jar in directory that if you look inside it seems to contain functions related to metadata.

works ok. gets 900 to 3000 hosts with 6 connections permited.

just how many ports does it need? I force one through and specify it in the two places needed and it works fine.
