Is there an IP address feature?
 

i'm just curious, i wasn't sure where to post this question, so i thought here was best. :o
anyway, i have tried looking to see if there is a way to enter a particular IP address (e.g. that of a friend) somewhere on limewire so that they were able to share their files with me, or vice-verser, but i can't seem to find anything of the sort.
any help would be much appreciated, if it is not a feature then i could suggest it as one in the right forum thread.

Yes, LW has this feature (on the left side of the LW window) at the bottom of where you write your search queries, there it says "Direct Connect".
However, this feature is not a exact science. It depends on several things to work. Both of you must have "Chat" enabled, should not be behind any kind of firewall, and of course should be online at the same time.....;)
Just give it a try.
