mp3 Files and Virii
 

Can mp3 files contain virii/trojans/worms/whatever? I didn't think they could unless well hidden like song.exe.mp3?

Thoughts?

I believe there is a mp3 virus. The filesize is 134.4KB. I was told not to download this file.

Thanks I guess I could clarify a bit more.. I mean.. lets say I want to get a song called song.mp3 that's around 4mb.. can a virus be somehow attached to this file?

I've never come across an mp3 file of that size with a virus in it. Normally viruses are often found in programs, not mp3's.

1. See autogenerated mp3 spam results which can be easily filtered out using the Junk filter & generally only takes 2-3 additions before the filter recognises it as junk.

2. Keep in mind almost all windows systems are set up by default do hide the extension of the file. So you may find a particular file has an exe at the end without knowing. Such as "All my L*ve".mp3.exe but all you see is the " " .mp3!!!
