Can't remove Limewire from computer Can anyone help me? I downloaded Limewire and then tried to uninstall it and it won't go away. Initially I tried to do this via My Computer>Add/Remove Programmes. Then I posted a message on here and someone said I might have a virus and that I should uninstall via Start>Programmes>Uninstall. I downloaded it again and tried to uninstall this way and it didn't work either. I haven't got a virus, Norbie's World have checked it out for me. Limewire reappears as Limewire Swarmed Installer in my C Drive. How can I make it go away? |
Try deleting the file |
It won't let me. |
What does it say when you try to delete the file and which files are you trying to delete? |
I just had to try uninstalling it again for the third time. This time only one file won't delete, one called .limewire, and it says Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. |
Use an eraser program such as "Eraser578"... Google for it... Or go here, all free: http://www.ded.com/nonags/security.html http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
Sometimes when you see that error it's just because Explorer needs a refresh of the screen. Hit F5 and see if the name disappears from view. Sometimes, rarely, you need to scan the disk for errors because the file name wasn't removed from the folder at the same time as the file was deleted. |
