Downloaded fully, then disappeared?? Has this ever happened to anyone? I downloaded a complete movie (approx 1100 MB), and I had been able to preview it during download so I know it was a valid movie. I happened to be watching Limewire's screen when it finished completing "verifying file contents", it took a longer time than usual in the "saving file" mode. Then when I went to the shared folder, the movie was listed there with an icon that indicated unrecognized file...and the file size shows 0 kbs? I have never had this happen before. I have most every video application on my pc. After re-booting I still get the same file listing with no change to icon or file size. Is the file buried somewhere and is there any way to make it work? |
AFAIK, Limewire has a file size limit of 1GB, above that it can't be shared (or downloaded)........that' might be your problem.....though I'm not sure. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
That should be 2 GiB. 1 GB as limit does not make much sense. But why would LimeWire start the download of a file it cannot finish anyway? |
As I said, I'm not sure.... However, since I got the information from "grandpa" who is definitely an experienced user, I thought I could state it the way I did.....including me not being sure. Read here of a reply from him to one of the threads you've also suscribed: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...limit+limewire http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
Same thing happened to me once I have no idea what went wrong. Had enough space. I was able to get almost the complete file back using Restoration (approx 6 minutes of the movie missing) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=47967 Use your computer as little as possible until the recovery. You may overwrite parts of it by accident BTW the file I lost was only 730 MB, so it wasn't any filesize limit causing this |
LimeWire uses signed 32-bit integers for filesizes. Therefore it cannot handle files larger than 2 GiB. They will certainly fix that somewhen but haven't done so for years. |
