new genre

ok.....so u can search music by genre right? what if they dont have the genre your looking for.....then what do u do?

Angry Pirate August 1st, 2006 12:30 PM

Then search all. Therefore if the file you are looking for is on the network you will find it.

do u know how long thats gonna take?! i juss want to look for that specific genre.....not all of em.....that will take me FOREVER!!!!

trevor57 August 1st, 2006 12:35 PM

no it won't... if the genre is not on the list, it's probably not a very popular kind of genre.

wondering why August 1st, 2006 12:35 PM

Well thats the way it goes..
Just type in the Genre name and see what come up...

tornprincess5 August 1st, 2006 12:53 PM

I completely agree with you about the genre problem. I like all types of alternative, rock, and rap in Christian music but I do not know every group name or album out there. For some reason they only have "Gospel" or "Christian Rap" as a genre. I don't want gospel and I don't want JUST rap. As you said, it is WAY to timeconsuming to do 'All'. On top of this issue, I can't get to an actual limewire rep to suggest a generic category for 'Christian' because I haven't bought Limewire Pro yet. But this is the very reason I haven't bought it is because if I am going to be limited to those two search categories, it's not worth the money for me. Does anyone know any way to get through to limewire employess who might be able to do something or is it possible that there are more genre selections under the Pro edition?:(

genre searching is a waste of time in my opinion, you then get all the junk files and crap music that you're not even looking for is lumped in with everything else, Cant you type it in by the artist or group? That would come under HipHop anyway. I tend to type my general music searches by the decade that works on Gnutella: example: 50's music, 60's music, 70's music etc. Not sure if that would work for Hip/Hop Rap though. Pro is not worth it. Its all in the way you type in your searchbox.

You would have to just type in Rap and or Gangsta Rap, That comes up.

Best thing i find is if your looking for say speedcore to type speedcore into your title search on audio because a lot of users [myself included] title things like this:~ name of band say xxx name of song say i love you and in brackets i put {ballad} and it will come up on the search.
