I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but IP addresses are kinda like renting an apartment or house. When you rent an apartment, you have an address at the name of that complex. IP addresses are addresses that belong to your ISP and you hold that address. That's as far as I know about them. I know that you can track using them for criminals and stuff I think, but I ain't sure on much.

I know the red as far as location has to do with the firewall. I just noticed that when I search, there are 4 parts to the IP address, and the first 3 sets are the same, only the 4th is different. I just wondered what it meant and if it's just nothing to be concened about.

Hi,

192.168.0 is the start of a local router IP:
192.168.0.1 is the router.
192.168.0.2 is the first client connected
192.168.0.3 is the second client connected
and so on....

The 192.168.xx.xx ip number is the address for a private network or possibly a router. The red indicates it is firewalled. In some old threads you will see that it is recommended to avoid these ips but the latest versions of Limewire can force a connection with them, so really it is nothing to worry about, google 192.168.x for more information

I hope this helps
