White labels and Downloading Legality Hi Guys'n'Gals, I've been using Limewire to trace a lot of old dance tracks down. Now, most of these tracks were originally out on a white label (meaning they were privately pressed with no studio label i.e. EMI, Sony, Etc behind the band/group) I've no way of chasing down itchy and scratchy vinyl copies from 10-15 years ago. Record companies are not involved, it's just the actual bands/groups themselves that have lost out. But then again, these records were only ever distributed on a "sale or return" basis by the bands/groups. To get them I'd need to sniff out the afforemention "itchy and scratchy" copies. Just wondering if anyone knows where I stand in (UK) law over this? TDO |
