Get to your Bearshare download folder & find the songs. One technique is to drag & drop the songs onto the Library icon at the top of the playlists in iTunes. Hold SHIFT key as you select them so you can select multiple song files at one time. iTunes won't re-import the same song twice so long as all details are the same.

Hmm interesting. I think it's related to the new protection in the new versions. If you want a version of BearShare that works properly, see the Stickies in the Bearshare section. There's a link to an old beta which you can still get.
![]() Otherwise those songs you downlded were previously bought online or encoded within WMP with copyright protection turned on. duh !

Check this version & see if you have the same problems: Where to get the "real" BearShare
BTW why are you posting a BearShare question in the LimeWire section forums? |

So did you install the bearshare beta as suggested using the special pre-load program. Check the link again if you're not sure. You need to do that first.
After that, this bearshare should behave properly. The new ones are corrupted by content filtering because the owners of bearshare sold out in a out of court case settlement. |

itunes does not let me transfer files from bearshare because they are protected. Is there anything i can do to unprotect them.

Some people purchase music online which is automatically limited to their use, & when others obtain copies it means they are unable to do much with them.
I believe the older BearShare (listed above) does not limited you to only downloading DRM music. There may be utilities to help you. BTW search the links at bottom of first post here CODECs list for Movies/Audio/ Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers as there may be something to help you. C: Video Tools & select the type of tool you need in your search at that site. |
