Problems with search results!

This is the first time i,ve seen this. you know how when you search (say audio) and you select a specific album from the left, then the results show ??/???, why is it doing that from the initial search? I searched for Microsoft under program, and the initial resuls on the Microsoft tab showed 51/298. why?

Try clicking to show all results in the boxes to the left of the search results. Otherwise, it might be your junk filter...have you set it to not display junk? If that's the case then it would explain results disappearing, if your LW has recognised the files as junk. You could try changing your filter options to display junk at the bottom of search results...then do another search for the same thing & see what happens.

If that advice sounds wrong for you, try deleting your preferences folder while LW's closed. See points 2 & 3 below. Deleting the folder will kill all of your settings within tools > options, so you'll have to go back & reset things afterwards:D
Fixes for LimeWire

**Be very careful when downloading programs. They're often infected. Scan all files you've downloaded with your AV before opening!

Thanx birdy, that did help me, just one more thing. When searching for tv shows, or any file type, sometimes I seem to get more junk results than good results, but the junk files sizes seem like they are correct like good files(in MB's).
Is it possible that they might not really be junk even if labeled as such?

Yeah, that can happen. You have to train the filter & it takes a while:eek:
That's why I think it's a good idea to display junk...just in case some good files slip through the net.
If you think files have been wrongly labelled as junk, you can always download some of the file, preview it & see what it's like. If it turns out to be a good file, label it as 'not junk'. Don't forget to look up the file with Bitzi before download. Music files aren't rated very often & I'm not sure about program files (might be?) but a lot of video gets rated.
How to use Bitzi

You can change how strictly you've set the junk filter too. Have a look through the thread below. It's a bit long but has some good info & tips:D
